Welcome to The Resonators Website, Dunedin's home for acoustic blues duo Leo LaDell & Paul Southworth.

Formed in early 2006, The Resonators feature Double Bass, Acoustic Resonator Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals. Their music is upbeat with a genuine blues feel featuring some of the authentic blues greats like Muddy Waters, Freddy King, Little Walter, and Jimmy Reed.

The combination of Paul’s double bass with Leo’s superb vocals and strong guitar work provide an excellent entertainment package both visually and aurally.

Leo has personally had the pleasure to play with some of the great names in blues such as Pinetop Perkins, Bo Diddley, Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Waters’ son) and has also opened for Charlie Musslewhite, Delbert McClinton and Danny Gatton.

The Resonators play many events where organisers are looking for the unique sound of double bass and acoustic guitar including the Otago Arts Festival, Dunedin Heritage Festival and Gallop South Racing Meets. They also perform at corporate functions, private parties and weddings.
